Baby is fine, Fatima however, has been transferred to Monash ICU (across the other side of Melbourne) due to inexplicable drop in blood pressure that the local hospital has referred up. Jack is in the nursery at the local hospital and I'm at home. This is about the only possible outcome that never crossed my mind.
More news when there is more news. I have slept about 2 hours in the past 36 and I'm totally beat.
Congratulations to you and Fatima, I hope her blood pressure comes up soon and all turns out okay. I see that you have a perfect excuse for not being at LCA this week!
Congrats, Rick! Blood pressure appears to be one of those things that can fluctuate following child birth. Something similar (but probably not as drastic) happened to my wife. I'm sure things will turn out just fine.
Thanks so much everyone. She's doing much better and Jack is back with his mum. Fatima is currently getting the first of two blood transfusions. THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO DONATES BLOOD!!
@jarich: he's asked me to pass on his apologies but promises to give the keynote next year

If I knew which direction the hospital was in, I'd be thinking positive and happy thoughts in that direction :)
